We Match Startups With Professional Mentors
The Ebook Framework
When I created Mentors4Startups off the Ning website, I wanted to see if it was possible to gather a group of industry experts and match them with Startups and young companies. I had this inspiration that many young companies need guidance to jumpstart their great ideas but are cash-strapped or just do not now the right channels to look for assistance.
I made this observation as a Business Plan Competition judge and a recognized mentor. I have also mentored school teams with workable social goals.
At this point in time, I am very surprised that I have been able to get more mentors as compared to startups! I wonder if the reason is that the startup is afraid that the mentor may rip-off the business idea or may feel that their business plan is inadequately prepared. This is strange as the mentors are coming forward without asking for any monetary compensation.
Thus I have decided to create an M4S ebook, modeled after a previous ebook effort (http://www.mrmc.com.sg/Ebook1.pdf). I hope that both mentors and startups within M4S can create a mentoring ebook and maybe lower the shroud of distrust and cynicism. This ebook is not for sale and content contributors can upload the ebook on their sites (unedited) to drive traffic to their websites.
I hope to create of 4 of these ebooks and this will be the foundation for the print version to officially launch the M4S initiative.
